The Many Moods of Music Concert

Join us for an afternoon of exploring the many ways we use music in our lives, and how it affects even your emotions! Free.

St. Mark’s United Methodist Church presents The Sandoli Trio in a free concert on Sunday, 12 February at 3pm. Entitled “The Many Moods of Music”, this concert aims to illustrate the numerous ways we use music in our lives — and how music also affects our emotions — through musical works by Mozart, Beethoven, Muczynski, Holcombe and more. One special treat will be a multi-media performance of Roger Jones’ “Colors” for woodwind trio.

Sprinkled between the compositions, representatives from the Southern Arizona Psychological Association will discuss the scientific aspects of how music affects the brain.

The Sandoli Trio (flutist Sandy Schwoebel, clarinetist Dominic Livigni and bassoonist Lisa Renteria) have been performing together for more than 20 years. They first met when assigned to work together as an ensemble for TUSD’s Opening Minds through the Arts program (OMA), where they worked in kindergarten classrooms together for ten years. The trio continues to perform concerts which educate and enrich the public.
Admission is free, with donations appreciated. Masks are encouraged.
