Get a taste of the rich and savory history of the Southwest at Chiles & Chocolate: Sweet and Spicy Foods in the American West!
Join Chris Glenn and Sandy Sunseri to discover how chiles and chocolate became identity markers in gender roles and relationships in the Old West, and were essential in religious customs, and popular in aesthetic fashions and lifestyles.
The free to the public event will immediately follow the Farmer’s Market at McFarland State Park from 8 am – to 12 pm.
“Chiles & Chocolate” is part of “Ernest Talks,” the new thought-provoking speaker series at McFarland Historic State Park. The talk covers a wide variety of subjects relevant to Florence and surrounding Pinal County.
