Local Teaching Artist Abstract Art Show

The Drawing Studio is holding an abstract art exhibit for the months of Dec 2023 and Jan 2024 and the opening reception is Dec. 8th 6pm-8pm.
The Drawing Studio, a local nonprofit arts organization, is starting a new program; featuring a new exhibit of work each month by a Teaching Artist. The second artist to be featured is Angela Soliz. The Drawing Studio is holding an abstract art exhibit for the months of Dec 2023 and Jan 2024 and the opening reception is Dec. 8th 6pm-8pm. The second of a monthly rotating exhibit of work by Teaching Artists.
The art show features 30 original large paintings by local queer Chicana artist Angela Soliz. Angela’s style is abstract, bold, colorful and full of magical realism and design. She draws inspiration from her Hispanic heritage as well as Matisse, and 20th century graphic design. Angela teaches acrylic techniques for process painting and Design Principles at The Drawing Studio.
Bella’s Mediterranean will be serving food and Soumaya Belmecheri, a KXCI DJ, will be DJing at the opening reception. It is a wonderful moment to spend with friends.
